Finance Analyst Job Description
Our company is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Finance Analyst to join our growing finance team. As a Finance Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing financial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future performance, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for improvement. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range strategic plans.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including variance analysis, budget vs. actual reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and provide insightful commentary to management.
- Data Management & Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data by performing reconciliations, validating data sources, and implementing data quality controls.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with various departments across the organization to understand their financial needs and provide financial support. Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and act as a financial advisor to support their decision-making processes.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the accuracy of financial reporting. Contribute to the implementation of new financial systems and technologies.
- Ad-hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by management to support strategic initiatives, evaluate investment opportunities, and assess the financial impact of business decisions.
- Compliance & Control: Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and internal control policies. Assist with internal and external audits.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement. Develop dashboards and reports to communicate performance trends to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Finance Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and budgeting processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis using spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel).
- Experience with financial planning and reporting systems (e.g., ERP systems) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- CFA or MBA is a plus.
